After another playoff disappointment, the Detroit Lions are determined to bounce back in 2025. With one of the league’s most complete rosters heading into the offseason, the team has remained steady in free agency. Although standout cornerback Carlton Davis departed, they swiftly filled the void with veteran D.J. Reed.

The Lions also secured the return of defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike and edge rusher Marcus Davenport. While these moves strengthen the defensive front, there’s still room for improvement. The addition of Roy Lopez in free agency provides depth, but he is expected to be more of a rotational piece rather than a full-time starter.

CBS Sports analyst Mike Renner recently released a mock draft, predicting that Detroit will select defensive lineman Walter Nolen. According to Renner, Nolen’s dominance as a run defender at the three-tech position could be the missing piece on an already formidable Lions defensive line.
