Two Detroit Lions players were hit with fines for incidents that occurred during the team’s Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Linebacker Jack Campbell was penalized $11,593 after officials flagged him in the third quarter for a facemask infraction on tight end Josh Whyle. The former first-round selection was caught tugging Whyle’s helmet during the play.

Wide receiver Jameson Williams received an even steeper fine, losing $17,389 for a taunting call late in the fourth quarter. It wasn’t the first time this season he’s been punished for the same behavior—he was previously fined in Week 1 for directing taunts at Packers safety Xavier McKinney at Lambeau Field.

Since Detroit’s bye week, Williams’ performance has taken a noticeable step forward. He has amassed 417 receiving yards during that stretch and recently delivered one of his best outings, hauling in seven passes for 96 yards against the Dallas Cowboys.

Head coach Dan Campbell praised Williams’ steady progress, noting the wideout’s improved precision, fearlessness, and effort in practice. Campbell emphasized that Williams’ route-running fundamentals have sharpened and that his explosiveness after the catch continues to make him difficult to defend.

Quarterback Jared Goff echoed that sentiment, saying Williams has developed into one of the most trustworthy targets he has ever worked with. According to Goff, whether it’s a crucial third or fourth down, Williams has become the player who consistently shows up.

Williams signed a significant contract extension earlier in the year, and both Campbell and new offensive coordinator John Morton anticipated a breakout season following an impressive training camp. Goff believes that prediction is coming true.
