In his time as the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback, Dak Prescott has made five postseason visits, been selected to three Pro Bowls, been named to an NFL All-Pro team, and won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Despite his achievements, Prescott has a 2-5 record in the NFL playoffs and the Cowboys have not advanced to the NFC championship game with him as a starter.
After Dallas’ 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers, some analysts questioned if Prescott should stay with the team.
On First Take, ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky stated that the Cowboys were in need of a rebuild and lacked a team capable of contending for the Super Bowl.

“The day after they got completely blown out of the house in the playoff game [against] Green Bay, I would blow the whole thing up and start over with Dak Prescott and Mike McCarthy at quarterback and head coach,”
Orlovsky declared. Smith remarked, “Let’s pump the breaks to get rid of Dak Prescott. If I get away of him, who am I going to get in return for him? Who has the solution? That’s the way you have to think, D.O., because someone needs to be the quarterback.
Smith added that no quarterback available surpassed Prescott and that Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb’s contracts are up for renewal shortly. With contract discussions underway, Prescott is under intense pressure to lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl for the first time in over 30 years as he begins his ninth season in the NFL.
