Trevon Diggs, a cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, has built his NFL career—and thus, a large income—on his ability to rush the ball and pick it up.
On Wednesday, he interrupted a reporter’s query before it had even been fully asked.
Trevon, there’s a list that recently came out and…
“What it say?” Diggs interjected and questioned.
Diggs likely already knew the answer.
In order to compile a ranking of the top-10 players at each position in the league, ESPN conducted anonymous surveys with scouts, coaches, and executives earlier in the off-season. Of particular note was the room in the corner. Both Diggs and All-Pro DaRon Bland, his teammate, were left off the roster.
Diggs didn’t specifically admit it, but it sure seems like he saw the list.
He remarked, “I feel like I’m in a league of my own.” Nobody is able to accomplish what I do. Nobody is able to perform as well as Bland does. We seem to be in a class apart, in my opinion. Lack of lists is unimportant to us.
The field will witness the results of our labor. Could you please locate another [defensive back] on that list that completed any of our tasks? Show it to me.
Diggs is making reference to the total amount of interceptions that Bland and he have made in the NFL thus far. Diggs has played in 47 games and has 18 interceptions. That encompasses his eleven in 2020 as well.
With 34 career games played and 14 interceptions, Bland is not far behind. With five interception returns in a single season, Bland set the record last season.
“He’s the best defensive back out there,” Diggs said.
As for if Bland is better than himself, Diggs responded: “1A and 1B.”
This season, Diggs will have the opportunity to become one of the best corners in the league very soon. On Tuesday, he was taken off the list of physically incapable people.
As he continues to heal from an ACL tear he sustained prior to the Week 3 matchup against Arizona, he is in the ramp-up phase. Diggs remarked, “I feel like when I’m comfortable.” “Although it’s preferable to be safe than sorry, I can handle everything right now. Right now, we don’t win football games.

Diggs appears driven to come back. One person who views Diggs as a brother, Micah Parsons, stated that he had never seen Diggs this motivated. He made a suggestion before that evaluation last week.
“I think you guys made him mad,” Parsons told reporters.
Getting held off a top-10 list can have that effect on a prideful player.
