With several of their top players furious over ongoing contract negotiations, the Dallas Cowboys may be in for a very poor NFL season.

Regarding the contracts for wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott, owner Jerry Jones has chosen to be quite obstinate. Prescott has already joined the squad at the preseason camp, but nobody is happy with the impasse between Jones and Lamb.

Recently, Jones told the media that he is not in a rush to extend Lamb’s contract. The wide receiver seems to find this amusing, as evidenced by his simple “lol” response to online comments.

Jones sticks to his guns

When reporters began to query Jones about this, he said that since the wide receiver wouldn’t be participating in preseason games, there was no need for hurry. “Well, you’re missed, CeeDee.

However, you’re not left out of the competition, and it doesn’t put any pressure on us,” he remarked. In an interview with ESPN, former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky was extremely forthright about the circumstances and declined to give Jones any leeway for taking such a dangerous and potentially disruptive tack.

He said that because of Jones’ cunning strategies, Lamb was unable to go to training camp and that the Cowboys would face dire repercussions.

The quarterback stated: “When these premier athletes miss time in training camp, usually there’s something attached to either their performance or health that isn’t on par with the expectations.”

Then, in order to demonstrate that Lamb would not be able to achieve the same results without adequate season preparation, he entered the room with some statistics on X.

“Ceedee in 2023

181 targets (1st)

135 catches (1st)

596 routes run (5th)

How can we expect that same volume/production without being in game shape?” he wrote.
