The Detroit Lions’ practice on Monday night was highlighted by three noteworthy injuries. Terrion Arnold (upper body), Ennis Rakestraw (ankle), and rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs (leg) are the cornerbacks. Terrion Arnold’s encouraging injury update helps the Lions avoid a possible calamity.
Although Arnold’s exact absence is still unknown, it is almost a given that he will not be available for the remainder of training camp and the preseason (not that he would have been in the starting lineup for the remaining two games otherwise). Head coach Dan Campbell may have updates on Gibbs, Arnold, and Rakestraw when he appears on the Costa and Jensen show on 97.1 The Ticket on Wednesday morning (thanks to Pride of Detroit).
In place of Carlton Davis, Arnold is expected to start outside cornerback for the Lions.verified by the first-team representatives he has been working with since the start of training camp. While missing practice sessions or any number of preseason games between now and the season’s opening is not ideal, it is unquestionably preferable to a serious injury that would prevent Arnold from playing in important games.
