Superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys are still unable to come to an agreement on a new deal that would keep Lamb in the DFW area for many years.

For a number of reasons, including the wide receiver’s availability on the trade market, the Washington Commanders should monitor their division opponents.

Lamb is hoping for a huge paycheck after logging 1,749 yards on 135 receptions and 12 touchdowns. The Commanders have the third-most cap space available.

While superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson received $35 million AAV, he would prefer to make more than $33 million. Given how the market is constructed, the wide receiver will come at a high cost, but the Commanders may be able to provide rookie QB Jayden Daniels with a top-tier wide receiver combination.

In the event that the Cowboys decide to move their wide receiver and no contract extension is reached, the Commanders are the team with the best odds to acquire him, according to bookmakers.

The Washington Redskins have +350 odds to sign Lamb, while the Arizona Cardinals have +400 odds to do the same. “The Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals rank Nos 3 and 2, respectively, in available 2025 cap space, each just north of $90 million,” according to Bookies.

Although Lamb would be an improvement for the new quarterback, Jayden Daniels, the Commanders’ main issue isn’t with their receivers. With Lamb lining up opposite rookie Marvin Harrison Jr., the Cardinals could afford to sign him, giving Kyler Murray the best wide receiver tandem he’s ever had.”

Lamb would instantly raise the bar for the team and get paid if he joined the Commanders, so they make perfect sense.

With Lamb and Terry McLaurin as Daniels’ wide receiving tandem and Jahan Dotson and Luke McCaffrey adding more playmaking, a rookie breakout season akin to C.J. Stroud’s from the previous year would become much more likely.

Lamb’s arrival and the addition of such a dynamic offensive bunch would be a welcome sight for a franchise that is used to offensive mediocrity.
