Following his signing with Dallas, the former Pro Bowler believes he still has a lot to provide. Dalvin Cook believes he still has the potential to be a game-changing factor for the Dallas Cowboys.
Cook signed with the Cowboys’ practice squad following his workout on Tuesday. He’s not far removed from being a Pro Bowl player. Cook carried for 1,173 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2022 with the Minnesota Vikings.
Cook, who signed with the New York Jets in free agency last year, struggled with restricted workload. In 15 games, he carried for only 214 yards on 67 carries. After being released late in the year, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens, but did not contribute significantly during their playoff run.
Cook spoke to the media on Thursday and is setting a high bar for himself.
“I still got it,” Cook said.
Cook is expected to join a backfield that features Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle, and Deuce Vaughn after spending little time on the practice squad.
“I’m gonna be ready to go,” Cook said. “My resume speaks for itself.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is overjoyed to have Cook in the mix, having watched him from afar. “Well, Dalvin is someone we all admire for his career,” Jones remarked Wednesday.
“He’s in good condition. He’ll have a lot more job. He will learn the system as he goes and might be a huge asset to us this year.” The Cowboys kick off the regular season on September 8 against the Cleveland Browns.
