Detroit Lions Signs Jets All-Pro Linebacker in a Proposed Mega Trade deal Amid contract dispute with Los Angeles

The Detroit Lions aim to build on last seasonā€™s success, where they made it to the NFC Championships for the first time since 1991.

They kicked off the new season well, securing a 26-20 overtime win against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 8.

The Dan Campbell-led team benefited greatly from its defense, anchored by Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, and Levi Onwuzurike. However, the Lions could still use extra talent, particularly in the form of a Pro Bowl linebacker.

According to The 33rd Team, Haason Reddick, currently in a contract dispute with the New York Jets, could be a target for the Lions.

In addition to Detroit, the post suggested the Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts as potential suitors for the 29-year-old linebacker.

The Jets acquired Reddick, a former All-Pro Second Team member, from the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2024. However, he has not participated in any team activities, including their Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Despite requesting a trade, the Jets have denied it.

Rich Cimini of ESPN reported that Reddick has racked up over $5 million in fines and lost earnings.

Cimini is doubtful that Reddick will play for the Jets, stating it’s “hard to envision.”

“He has no loyalty to the team,” Cimini said. “Heā€™s only been to the facility onceā€”on April 1, for his introductory press conference, when he was all smiles.”
