Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott shared a brief message for those questioning how the Cowboys would respond following their loss to the Saints.
The Cowboys suffered a heavy defeat to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, September 15, with a final score of 44-19. Prescott, who recently signed a four-year, $240 million contract extension with $231 million guaranteed on September 8, is facing increased scrutiny. When asked about the loss, Prescott had just two words to offer.

In a postgame press conference on September 15, Prescott was questioned about how the Cowboys would react to the Saints’ victory.
He stated, “I know I can set the example of how we’ll move forward, respond, and approach the week. It’s a process. I’ve already told the locker room we’re not going undefeated. Coach McCarthy also emphasized putting it behind us.”
Prescott added that the Cowboys were “going to learn from” the loss.
“You can’t forget it until we’ve learned. We’ll build off it,” he said. “The Saints are a good team; they started fast for two weeks in a row. Credit goes to them. This is the NFL, and it’s a reminder for the young players to tune out outside noise after a win.”
The quarterback also highlighted the scrutiny surrounding the Cowboys’ high-profile position. He noted, “In this organization, playing on national TV every week means if you lose, you’re down; if you win, you’re up. None of that matters. It’s about trusting the process and getting better each day. I know we have the guys to do that.”
He concluded, “The coaches and staff focus a lot on emotional intelligence. I’m excited to get back to work and move on.”

At the same press conference, head coach Mike McCarthy was asked what he learned from the Saints game.
“What did I learn? This shows where we are,” McCarthy said. “We’ve played two games, and the consistency from week one didn’t carry over. We took a step back, so we’ve got to get back to work.”
McCarthy also praised the Saints, saying, “They played like a playoff team.”
