Texas’s Frisco The Dallas Cowboys might be on a short week coming into Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants, but there has been a lot to unpack over the past few days with back-to-back defeats.
CeeDee Lamb, an All-Pro wide receiver, avoided speaking with media following the Baltimore Ravens game on Sunday. Lamb fumbled a catch, lost a fumble, and appeared to get into a sideline altercation with quarterback Dak Prescott.
He expressed regret on Tuesday for both his on-field performance and his demeanor, admitting that he was “a big part” of Sunday’s defeat and that his actions and demeanor “helped the situation or the outcome of the game.”
“Just handling this whole thing with professionalism. Realizing that the game is lengthy,” Lamb stated. “However, I have higher expectations for myself and my performance than anyone could possibly place on me. To be completely honest, I also failed. And it is evident that I fell short of the team’s expectations in terms of output, serving as the team’s game-changer, and being a reliable member.
“Yes, I did let the game to have a slight mental hold on me. On the other hand, I am aware of my capabilities. I am aware of my abilities and what I can contribute to that field. Having said that, going ahead, there will be a
Lamb did not attempt to miss training camp on Sunday due to a contract holdout.
“That is not an excuse,” he declared. “I played football my whole life. I am aware of this.”
Prescott stated that their relationship is doing great as it always has. But Prescott remained silent to the media on Tuesday, maybe a first for him as the starting quarterback.
“Our relationship, if anything, [has] gotten stronger,” Lamb stated. “Do not be duped by what you see online. To the end, we are brothers. I tip my hat to him since we all know what we have got. He has my deepest esteem, and I see him as a brother. Having said that, all will be revealed: the
Lamb was largely quiet during last year’s 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. After that, he went on to set team records in the final 11 games, including seven reception games with 100 yards and six games with at least 11 catches.
Lamb declared, “I am going to do it again.”
The Cowboys intend to stop the Giants from running all over them defensively, unlike what the New Orleans Saints (190 yards) and Ravens (274 yards) accomplished in their last two games.
When asked if the defense has understood the need of playing fundamentally sound, All-Pro edge player Micah Parsons responded, “I mean, everyone says it, but then again we have got to see what happens.”
“I feel like as a competitor, at some point you got to be prideful enough to say, ‘Hey, like I am not going to allow this to happen to me,'” stated Parsons. “It seems to me that some people are simply letting children continue to receive face smacks. When will you get to your feet?”
The Cowboys appear to be in a pivotal point of their season already at 1-2.
