The Detroit Lions have added former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Allen Robinson to their active roster, the team announced on Friday.

Robinson was initially signed to the practice squad after the preseason, and after a few weeks of familiarizing himself with the system, he has now been elevated to the active roster.

On the active roster, Robinson will join wide receivers like Tim Patrick, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jameson Williams. His presence adds depth to the team, offering a large body that can also play in the slot for the Lions.

In 2023, Robinson was the primary slot receiver for the Steelers, where he made 34 catches for 280 yards. Pittsburgh relied on him more for blocking than receiving, contributing to his career-low stats that year.

Robinson was promoted to play against the Arizona Cardinals for the Lions last week. Throughout his career, he has played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Steelers, New York Giants, and now the Lions. The Giants released him after the preseason, allowing the Lions to bring him on board.
