On Monday Night Football, Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions led his team to a 42-29 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in a remarkable performance in which he completed all 18 of his throw attempts. According to Field Yates, this accomplishment sets a record for the most pass attempts made in a game without a completion. Goff showed off his prowess with a spectacular 70-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams. He also showed poise by escaping a sack and securing another first down.

Following the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell acknowledged that he had given the game ball to another player and said he was surprised to learn of Goff’s perfect completion percentage. During his postgame press conference, he said, “I feel awful right now because I just gave the game ball to somebody else.” Although he was aware of Goff’s impressive performance, Campbell was unaware that the quarterback had gone 18 for 18.

Goff had two touchdown passes, 292 passing yards, and a perfect passer rating of 155.8 in his outstanding game stats. He has been incredibly precise over the last two games, finishing 36 of 41 passes with four touchdowns and just one interception, reaffirming his place as an important member of the Lions’ offense.
