The Detroit Lions improved to 3-1 after their victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Detroit’s offense scored 42 points, and their defense made key turnovers during the Monday Night Football game.

The officials handed out many penalty flags in the primetime match, especially against the Lions, who were flagged 12 times at Ford Field.

“This is something we need to address because it will become a narrative,” the writer noted. “The Lions want to play tough, physical football. The NFL doesn’t seem to want a team openly promoting violent, physical play in a way that may be seen as crossing the line.

It’s going to be hard since the Lions are openly saying, ‘We want to be tough, aggressive, nasty, and put people in the ground,’ or as some say, bite kneecaps.”

Veteran defensive back Carlton Davis, who was called for three penalties in coverage, was pleading with the officials for more leeway to play physically against Seattle’s talented wide receivers.

“The issue is these guys in striped uniforms can throw flags, and Carlton Davis was furious,” the writer explained. “He was begging, pleading, ‘Please stop throwing flags.’ The crazy thing is, this happened at Ford Field, not in Seattle where you might expect that.”
