The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 campaign is starting to seem like a nightmare. The Cowboys have consistently been dominated in the first half of home games ever since they were humiliated by the Packers in the playoffs the previous season. The squad was destroyed on the birthday of its owner by the Detroit Lions, and now, during their bye week, they are being closely watched. In any case, it appears that the group is continuing as is for the time being.Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, was asked on Dallas radio if he would think about changing the coaches during the season. The Cowboys have not changed their in-season coaching since they dismissed Wade Phillips during the 2010 campaign.
What adjustments, if any, the Cowboys make during their bye week is still to be seen. There are not many levers for them to pull. “Buying the Cowboys was one of the dumbest things I have ever done, that anyone had ever analyzed,” Jones remarked. “That was a stupid thing to do.” Thus, poor decisions can sometimes be wise ones. Making wise choices might backfire. The truth is that you never truly know when you will make one or if it will turn out well. You are getting what you want this morning—some talk.When questioned about why the team did not make more offseason roster improvements, Jones responded angrily.”This is not what you do. It is not your responsibility to listen to me justify every action I took and express my regret for it. That is not what you do,” Jones continued. “I will ask these questions to someone else. Not kidding. You will never be able to determine what the team is doing well or poorly. You are geniuses if you are, or if there are five or ten more like you, you must attend the NFL meeting I am having today with 32 teams in attendance.
Jerry Jones persisted in his tirade and went on the attack.
“Do you really think you are going to sit here and use a microphone to tell me everything I have done wrong without violating anyone’s rights?” Jones asked.
