Since star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson suffered a season-ending injury, Detroit Lions fans have speculated about the possibility of a blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby.
Crosby has repeatedly expressed his desire to remain with the Raiders, and owner Mark Davis has stated there are no plans to trade Crosby by the Nov. 5 deadline, despite the team’s struggles.
However, trade rumors have been fueled by Crosby’s comments about not wanting to endure a rebuild, which the Raiders are facing. He also shared a social media post suggesting he could return to Michigan and win a ring with the Lions.
Amid the speculation, Crosby addressed the situation on his “The Rush Podcast” on Tuesday.
“Honestly, it’s crazy bro. Last year, there was some trade talk,” he said. “That’s when it kind of started, sending me to Detroit. Their fan base was all over me, but it wasn’t as big as it is now. It wasn’t like a wishlist thing. Now it’s turned into a whole revolution.”
Crosby also commented on his remarks about a Raiders rebuild and how fans of different teams have been persistently trying to recruit him.
“Seeing all the craziness, it’s been insane,” Crosby said. “I can’t even open my phone without seeing Lions fans, Falcons fans, Bears fans. I see myself edited into different jerseys and think, ‘What has this turned into?’ I made one comment in a press conference, and it blew up. All I was saying is that I’m focused on winning, wherever I’m at. I just want to win.”
“On Sundays, I’m out there hunting and dominating, and I plan to keep getting better every week,” Crosby added. “There’s a lot of noise. Even family and friends are blowing up my DMs with ‘Come to Detroit.’ It’s turned into a revolution.”
Despite the growing fan pressure, Crosby reaffirmed his desire to stay in Las Vegas.
“And I’m just here, innocently doing what I do,” Crosby said. “I feel like I have to address it with my teammates. I’m not trying to leave. I know it’s a business, and I don’t control everything, but I want to be here. I want to be Silver and Black. I’ve said it over and over.”
It’s clear Crosby doesn’t want to be traded, so the only way he leaves is if the Raiders go against his wishes. However, Las Vegas has too much respect for him to do that.
