One of the NFL’s most competitive divisions at the moment is the NFC North. All four of the teams in this division have at least four wins, making it unique in the league.
The Detroit Lions are 5-1 and the Packers are 5-2. The matchup between these two clubs is scheduled for Week 9 at Lambeau Field. However, the Lions lost a dynamic playmaker for the next two weeks on Monday night.
NFL News: Jameson Williams Was Suspended for Two Games
Lions receiver Jameson Williams will now be suspended for two games for breaking the NFL’s Performance-Enhancing Substances (PES) rules, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Williams will not play against the Packers in Week 9 if it is sustained. The offense of the Lions is a powerhouse. They rank third in the league in terms of scoring (30.3) and passing offense (256.3), but second in terms of overall offense (411.8).
For that unit, Williams is one of the key players. In terms of receptions (17), receiving yards (361), and receiving touchdowns (3), he is second on the team.
Teams in the division are trying to overtake the Lions in 2024 after they won the NFC North the previous season. Although it has not been the case recently, Green Bay leads the Lions in the series 106-76-7. Four of the previous five meetings have been won by Detroit. The Packers are winning because they have one fewer playmaker to contend with. Green Bay, meanwhile, has been successful at placing opposing offenses in awkward situations. Despite giving up 318.4 total yards per game, they are leading the NFL in takeaways (17).
