After a crushing defeat to the Lions, Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan delivered a message to the fans.
The Tennessee Titans suffered a rough blowout loss to the Detroit Lions, ending the game with a 52-14 score. The performance was lackluster from beginning to end.
With this defeat, the Titans fall to 1-6 this season, and they now seem poised for a potential top-five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
After the loss, head coach Brian Callahan addressed Titans fans, acknowledging the painful nature of games like this one.
“We’re not here to provide everything right now; we’re here to play better football,” Callahan said. “That’s my focus—getting guys out there who fight, who play hard. But we need to improve. Right now, it’s not a product fans want to see, and that’s the reality. We need to fix that.”
Overall, there were only a few positive takeaways for fans.
One highlight was wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who had 10 receptions for 143 yards. He finally displayed the potential the team saw when they signed him in free agency.
Running back Tony Pollard also impressed with 94 yards on 20 carries, and Arden Key added two sacks.
Apart from those moments, the game was difficult to watch. Quarterback Mason Rudolph completed 22 of 38 pass attempts for 266 yards, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions. He also contributed 29 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Hopes were high that Tennessee could be a surprising contender this season, but that dream seems far from reality.
Next, the Titans will host the New England Patriots in Week 9, hoping to secure a win for their fans.
