Trevon Diggs explains his reasoning behind sparking a disagreement with a Cowboys reporter.

After the Dallas Cowboys’ 30-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, cornerback Trevon Diggs drew attention for his confrontation with WFAA ABC 8 Dallas reporter Mike Leslie.

Following the game, Diggs approached Leslie about a tweet the reporter posted during the third quarter, which criticized his effort on a 43-yard catch by 49ers tight end George Kittle that placed San Francisco in scoring range.

A day later, Diggs expressed that he had no regrets about his actions, feeling that his response was warranted. On the “The Edge with Micah Parsons” podcast, he stated, “I thought it was unnecessary. It seemed like he was trying to get clicks off my name. When I saw the tweet, I looked him up and realized he was right there, so I went to express my feelings.”

Diggs acknowledged that his emotions got the better of him, but he maintained that it was unjust for anyone to criticize his performance. He felt he played hard in the game. The moment in question involved Leslie quoting a video that showed Diggs jogging along the sideline for almost 30 yards without attempting to tackle Kittle.

When he spotted Leslie outside the Cowboys’ locker room, Diggs confronted him, insisting that the reporter didn’t understand football and should stick to his own expertise.
