Trevon Diggs expressed a strong desire to go all out under Dan Quinn, contrasting sharply with his time under Mike Zimmer, where he faced consistent criticism for not being aggressive enough.
During a recent episode of teammate Micah Parsons’ podcast, Diggs’s sharp remarks were only topped by another surprising moment. Following an intense encounter with a reporter after a game, where an emotional Diggs confronted a social media post, he criticized Chicago Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson for taunting fans during a play. Stevenson, who was late to react at the goal line, inadvertently tipped a Hail Mary pass into the hands of Noah Brown for a last-second touchdown in the Bears’ narrow 18-15 loss.
With a straight face, Diggs commented, “You can’t let your emotions get the best of you.” However, this remark was just the beginning, as he and Parsons nostalgically discussed their admiration for former Cowboys defensive coordinator Quinn, who is now coaching the Commanders.
The Cowboys, now 3-4 and struggling with injuries on defense, have given up 77 points in their last two games. Although neither player directly named Zimmer, it was clear they preferred Quinn’s approach.
“Confidence, that’s what Dan represents,” Parsons noted, emphasizing the positive impact Quinn had on team morale and energy. Diggs added, “Dan had me ready to run through a wall. The Commanders may not have star players, but they play as a cohesive unit and work hard for each other. They look impressive.”
Without Quinn’s influence, Diggs has seen a decline in his performance, managing only one interception and earning a growing reputation for lacking effort in tackles and pursuit of opponents.
