Possible Cowboys Trade Could Reignite Fan Hopes

This move would have Dallas fans celebrating throughout the city.

Just one Dallas Cowboys game is enough for any football fan to see the team’s biggest flaw. The running back position has been a significant weakness for the Cowboys’ offense, which seemed set up for failure even before the season kicked off.

But what if the front office finally decided to address this issue? Vinnie Iyer from The Sporting News has proposed a hypothetical trade that could make waves across the NFL.

Iyer suggests that the Cowboys continue their “all-in” approach by trading for Cleveland Browns’ running back Nick Chubb.

“The Browns should move Chubb to a contending team’s backfield, and the Cowboys seem like an ideal fit, especially since they’ve turned to Dalvin Cook for support. This deal makes sense if Dallas is willing to give up a mid-tier trade asset.”

While this idea sounds like a dream for Cowboys fans, can we truly call this team a contender? Yes, Chubb would elevate the running game, but injuries on defense, alongside a shaky offensive line and wide receiver issues, raise questions about their contender status.
