The Dallas Cowboys’ playoff aspirations took a hit in Sunday’s 27-21 defeat to the Atlanta Falcons, marking their third consecutive loss this NFL season.
Adding to the Cowboys’ offensive struggles, quarterback Dak Prescott was sidelined in the fourth quarter due to a hamstring issue and was also seen with what appeared to be a swollen hand on the sidelines.
As the team faces challenges halfway through the season, owner Jerry Jones openly discussed the likelihood of any trades before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.
Jones informed reporters that the Cowboys have “some things in the mix” and suggested that the team is looking to acquire players before the deadline.
“We’ll probably do a couple things this week,” Jones stated. “I’m far from being discouraged about this team this year.”
He also briefly commented on Prescott’s hamstring injury, expressing that he was “concerned” and that the Cowboys would need to “evaluate that.”
When asked about the Cowboys’ strategy for the Nov. 5 trade deadline last week, Jones mentioned, “If I see something… We seek out every opportunity that can enhance our team.”
The Cowboys faced criticism for multiple failed plays and errors in Sunday’s disappointing loss to Atlanta, including a failed fake punt and a controversial fourth-down call by coach Mike McCarthy. The team now sits at 3-5 for the season and faces a challenging schedule ahead against the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, and NFC-leading Washington Commanders.
