The injury report for the Houston Texans is daunting as they prepare to face the Detroit Lions.

The Texans’ season has been marred by injuries, which have hampered their progress. Entering with Super Bowl hopes that remain intact, they stand at 6-3 after nine games but now face a tough matchup against Detroit.

The team is missing star receiver Stefon Diggs, sidelined for the season with an ACL injury. Additionally, wide receiver Nico Collins, out for four games on Injured Reserve, may still be unfit to play against Detroit.

Further complicating things, defensive end Will Anderson Jr. has been listed as a non-participant, missing Thursday’s practice.

Here’s the rest of the injury report:

Non-participant:
DE Will Anderson Jr., ankle
DT Foley Fatusaki, groin/shoulder
OG Kenyon Green, shoulder
RB Dameon Pierce, groin
LB Jake Hansen

Limited participant:
LB Azees Al-Shaair, knee
DE Derek Barnett, calf/shoulder
DE Dylan Horton, illness
DE Jerry Hughes, hip
CB Jeff Okudah, ankle
S Jimmy Ward, groin

Missing Anderson would be significant, as the Defensive Player of the Year is a key piece on the Texans’ defensive line. Running back Dameon Pierce also missed his second straight practice.

Houston enters Week 10 as a 3.5-point underdog, facing Detroit, which stands at 7-1 and projects as the NFC’s top team.

Friday’s injury updates will be critical to assessing Houston’s chances against Detroit.
