The Detroit Lions’ defense bounced back after a rough first half, shutting down CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans in the second half to secure a 26-23 road victory on Sunday night. Despite missing former Defensive Player of the Year candidate Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions sacked Stroud four times and held the Texans scoreless after halftime. With the addition of Za’Darius Smith, who was traded from the Cleveland Browns, the Lions’ pass rush is expected to improve even further as they prepare for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday at Ford Field. Smith expressed his excitement for the Lions’ 8th win of the season, which put them in first place in the NFC North. He shared a message of support for his new teammates, saying, “Great team win!! I can’t wait,” along with a “clock” emoji to signify his upcoming debut. Smith also posted a new profile picture taken courtside at a Detroit Pistons game before the Texans matchup.
