The Jacksonville Jaguars will play without their star quarterback for another game.

Jacksonville’s $275 million quarterback won’t take the field this Sunday as the team faces the Detroit Lions.

Trevor Lawrence missed last week’s game due to a sore shoulder suffered in Week 9. The Jaguars are holding him out again this week to ensure he’s fully healthy before returning.

“Trevor will be out,” said Doug Pederson on Wednesday. “He’s close, but you know how we are with injuries. We won’t play anyone who isn’t 100%, so we’ll give him another week to rest.”

Pederson mentioned that Lawrence’s status for after the Jaguars’ Week 12 bye is still uncertain, though he’s hopeful. He also expressed confidence in Mac Jones to lead the team in Lawrence’s absence.

“Each week is different,” Jones said, “and it’s all about preparing and focusing on what’s next. Today, it’s about practice, walkthroughs, meetings, and studying tape. In the NFL, you have to be ready for each week. It’s all about staying prepared and changing the story.”
