DETROIT — The Detroit Lions are facing injuries at linebacker and tight end, prompting them to make roster moves to bolster depth.
To address these issues, the team signed linebacker Ezekiel Turner from the practice squad and promoted former fifth-round pick James Mitchell. Tight end Sam LaPorta (shoulder) will be sidelined this week after suffering an AC joint sprain during the victory over the Houston Texans.
Despite linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez returning after a two-game absence, the Lions are still in need of additional linebacker support for Week 11.
Ben Niemann (ankle) is listed as questionable, while Jalen Reeves-Maybin (neck) remains on injured reserve. Turner, who played a significant role on special teams in his season debut last week, was tied for the team lead with 26 special teams snaps.
