Houston’s breakout rookie season in 2022 saw him tally eight sacks in just seven games, including two pivotal takedowns of Josh Allen during his debut on Thanksgiving. While the Lions technically left the door open for a practice squad return, Campbell’s comments strongly suggest that Houston’s chapter in Detroit has closed for good.
“James has earned the chance to see what he can do elsewhere,” Campbell added.
