Eminem and Kid Rock are showing how to put politics aside and come together for a shared cause in the most American way possible—through football!
Despite their differing views on the upcoming presidential election, the Detroit Lions have united these two Michigan natives.
Eminem recently introduced Barack Obama at a Kamala Harris rally, while Kid Rock has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and performed at the Republican National Convention this summer.
Although the two have opposing political stances, their friendship has remained strong due to their shared Michigan roots, with the Detroit Lions helping to bridge the gap during these divisive times, where many are drifting apart over politics.
On Sunday, the Lions defeated the Tennessee Titans 52-14, bringing the team to a 6-1 record and lifting both Eminem and Kid Rock’s spirits.
In a viral social media exchange, Kid Rock posted a video explaining why he continues to support both Eminem and Taylor Swift, despite their political differences. Eminem responded, saying, “Here’s one thing Kid Rock and I do agree on… GO Lions!!!! Appreciate you, Bob.”
Eminem made his post during the Lions’ win, and Kid Rock followed up with more love for the team, addressing Eminem by his first name, saying, “Who would have thought it would be 2 white rappers from Detroit/Michigan showing our divided country what class is and how it should be done! Appreciate ya too Marshall! Kid Rock / Bob Ritchie DETROIT LOVE #GOLIONS.”
