The Green Bay Packers are currently 9-3 after defeating the Miami Dolphins 30-17 on Thanksgiving Day. This victory marks their third consecutive win since the Bye Week, following a loss to the Detroit Lions at home.

Although calling it “fortunate” might undermine the effort put in by the players, it is certainly beneficial for the Packers to secure this win, especially after the Detroit Lions improved to 11-1 with a win over the Chicago Bears earlier in the day. On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings, led by former Packers running back Aaron Jones, improved to 10-2.

With the fourth-best record in the NFC, the Packers are currently holding the second wild card spot (the sixth seed). However, to improve their positioning, they must win all their remaining games, including crucial matchups against the Lions and Vikings.

The Detroit Lions have recently strengthened their defense by signing three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams was added to the Lions’ practice squad and is expected to join the active roster ahead of Thursday’s game against the Packers.

Adams, who played for the Tennessee Titans earlier this season, appeared in three games before being placed on injured reserve and later released. He faced the Packers earlier in the season, when Green Bay won 30-14 in Week 3. In that game, Adams started but played only 17 snaps, which was about 27% of the Titans’ defensive plays.

The Packers will face a tough challenge in Week 14, as they travel to Detroit to face the 11-1 Lions. After losing the first matchup 24-14 at Lambeau Field, Thursday’s game will be critical for Green Bay’s hopes of winning the NFC North.
