Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott shared his confident outlook on the team’s playoff chances, despite being sidelined for the remainder of the season due to injury. As the Cowboys approach a crucial Monday Night Football matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals with a 5-7 record, Prescott believes the team has a legitimate shot at making the wild-card playoffs.

In a recent interview with Anne Erickson of Heavy Sports, Prescott was asked about the Cowboys’ postseason prospects and didn’t hesitate to express his optimism. “Yeah, for sure,” he said when asked if he believed the Cowboys could make the playoffs. “I’ve got no doubt in our guys. The schedule is setting up well for us to make a strong run. We’ve already won two straight, which has given us some momentum. Now, with a Monday night game against the Bengals, who have the same record, and then Tampa Bay, we’ve got a chance to grab those wins. If we do that, we can control our own destiny, especially with division games still ahead.”

Prescott emphasized the importance of staying focused on each game. “We’ve got to take it one game at a time. The records don’t matter at this point—whether it’s ours or someone else’s—we have to show up and compete every week,” he said.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys face a crucial stretch with games against the Bengals, Panthers, Buccaneers, Eagles, and Commanders to close out the regular season.

In addition to his football focus, Prescott is involved in a charitable holiday campaign with Dick’s Sporting Goods. Alongside other athletes like Simone Biles, Chris Paul, and Quinn Ewers, Prescott helped decorate a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Denton, Texas, with a Cowboys theme. As part of the campaign, each athlete will receive a $100,000 grant to support local youth sports organizations through the Sports Matter program. Prescott plans to direct his donation to a Dallas-area youth sports program.

Speaking about his involvement, Prescott said, “It’s all about giving back to the community and supporting our youth through the Sports Matter grant. The holiday season is a special time, and I really enjoy decorating and spreading that holiday spirit. It’s about inspiring others and making a positive impact.”
