The Dallas Cowboys’ season appears to be slipping away, with only five wins through their first 12 games, leaving them ahead of just the struggling New York Giants in the NFC East standings.

Quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the year due to injury, and the team has been plagued by inconsistent performances from key players.

As speculation grows about the future of head coach Mike McCarthy, one prominent figure on the team is voicing support for him. Linebacker Micah Parsons has publicly backed McCarthy’s return, citing injuries as a major factor in the team’s struggles.

“I would like a chance to compete with everyone healthy — players and coaches alike — because injuries have really derailed what this season could have been,” Parsons told ESPN. “The injuries have been brutal. It’s tough seeing guys like Zack [Martin] and D-Law [DeMarcus Lawrence] not having the kind of year we all expected, especially after such strong starts.”

The Cowboys are set to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

McCarthy’s future with the Cowboys remains in doubt, as he does not yet have a contract for next season.
