On Thursday night, the Detroit Lions moved closer to securing their second consecutive NFC North title by defeating the Green Bay Packers 34-31 at Ford Field, completing a season sweep of their rivals.

The win improved the Lions’ record to 12-1 and widened their lead over the Packers (9-4) to three games.

Quarterback Jared Goff delivered one of his best games of the season, completing 78% of his passes for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, achieving a 90.9 QBR. Notably, he became the first NFL quarterback to complete at least five passes to six different receivers in a single game.

Among Goff’s top targets was Jameson Williams, who led the team with five catches for 80 yards. The third-year receiver played a pivotal role in Detroit’s franchise-best 11th consecutive victory.

On the other hand, Packers receiver Jayden Reed, a Michigan State alum, had no impact in the divisional matchup.

Reed, who entered the game with 44 receptions, 693 yards, and six touchdowns, had previously expressed confidence about his performance in Detroit, saying on the “St. Brown Podcast” in October, “Wait until I come to Detroit.”

However, Reed failed to catch a single pass during the game.

Following the matchup, Bleacher Report Betting highlighted Reed’s earlier statement alongside his zero-catch stat line on Instagram.

Williams seized the opportunity to mock Reed, commenting, “Did he come?”

Reed replied, “Do yo homework on career stats, gang.”

Williams fired back, concluding the exchange with, “Only as good as yo last game.”

Williams had the upper hand both on the field and in the Instagram debate.

This season, the 2022 No. 12 overall pick has tallied 39 receptions, 710 yards, and four touchdowns in 11 games.
