Heading into Sunday’s 4:25 p.m. ET showdown at Ford Field, the Detroit Lions are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the NFL’s best record.
They’ll face the Buffalo Bills, led by Josh Allen and James Cook—the only team to defeat Kansas City this season —adding excitement to this highly anticipated game in Detroit.
On Monday, the Lions took to social media to make an announcement that thrilled fans in advance of one of the biggest games of the 2024 season.
The Lions revealed plans to wear their alternate “Motor City Muscle” black uniforms, embracing a black theme at Ford Field to set the tone for this matchup between two Super Bowl contenders in downtown Detroit.
If the Lions follow through, this would mark the second time this season they wear the black alternates, the first being a victory over Geno Smith, Kenneth Walker III, and the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football on September 30, 2024.
“For the Bills funeral, let’s go,” one fan commented after the announcement.
“13-1 confirmed,” another fan said.
“Admin, you’re cooking,” added another, accompanied by three flame emojis.
The Lions haven’t defeated the Bills since October 2006, when Jon Kitna and JP Losman were the starting quarterbacks.
Detroit has since dropped four straight in the series, including a 28-25 loss in 2022 when Josh Allen’s Bills edged out Jared Goff’s Lions in Motown.
