Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his team aim to rebound from a heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Rams as they prepare to face the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Josh Allen and the 10-3 Buffalo Bills hope to move past their shocking 44-42 defeat against the 7-6 Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. They now face a bigger challenge in Week 15: the 12-1 Detroit Lions.

The loss dropped the Bills two games behind the 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC’s top seed and a first-round bye, though Buffalo holds the tiebreaker after beating Kansas City earlier this season.

Allen emphasized the need for urgency against the Lions. Reflecting on the Rams game, he admitted, “I don’t think at any phase of the game did we do that today.”

Allen delivered an incredible performance, completing 22 of 37 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 82 yards and three more scores, showcasing his MVP-caliber play.

But questionable late-game playcalling doomed the Bills. Trailing 44-35 with 1:06 left at the Rams’ one-yard line and all three timeouts, Buffalo ran a quarterback sneak that failed and burned a timeout.

After scoring on the next play, the Bills missed their onside kick and never regained possession. FOX announcer Tom Brady criticized the playcalling.

“To me, you take three shots throwing and don’t use a timeout,” Brady said. “Then you can kick it deep, use your timeouts, and still get the ball back with good time. That decision could’ve cost them the game.”

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford excelled, completing 23 of 30 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns. Allen praised the veteran, saying, “That was a good team with a really good quarterback. They played with urgency and looked like a team fighting for the playoffs.”

Now, Buffalo turns its focus to the 12-1 Lions, who edged out the Green Bay Packers despite several injuries, particularly on defense.

“They’re the top dog in football right now,” Allen said of Dan Campbell’s squad. “They’re playing extremely well. We need a good week to learn from this, put it behind us, and prepare for them.”
