After a tough 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Detroit Lions are facing more challenges, particularly on defense. Head coach Dan Campbell revealed that the team could lose three key defensive players for the remainder of the season due to injuries sustained during the game.

Campbell expressed concern over the injuries to defensive tackle Alim McNeill, cornerback Carlton Davis III, and cornerback Khalil Dorsey. McNeill suffered a knee injury, Davis had a jaw injury, and Dorsey appeared to fracture his leg after a collision with a teammate. The team is awaiting further tests, but Campbell’s comments suggest the situation could be serious.

The Lions have already been battling numerous injuries this season, including a significant leg fracture to star rusher Aidan Hutchinson. Despite these setbacks, Hutchinson may have a chance to return if the team makes it to the Super Bowl. However, these latest injuries come at a critical time, as the Lions are now tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for the top NFC seed.

The loss to the Bills, despite scoring 42 points, has shaken the Lions’ standing in the NFC North, with the Minnesota Vikings on a six-game winning streak and closing in on Detroit. Campbell acknowledged that his team wasn’t good enough to compete against one of the AFC’s top contenders.
