On Christmas Day, the team announced via X (formerly Twitter) that defensive lineman Chris Smith has been re-signed to the practice squad. Smith, who has previously played for the Lions, will provide additional depth to Detroit’s defensive line as they prepare for a critical Week 17 matchup. With the Lions aiming to secure the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC, this move strengthens their defensive group for the upcoming game. In the three games Smith has played for the Lions in 2024, he has tallied two tackles.
