The Philadelphia Eagles are set to face the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East showdown on Sunday, but the stakes are lower than usual. The Cowboys were eliminated from playoff contention last week, and the Eagles also face a tough road after their loss to the Commanders, which has made their path to securing the No. 1 seed in the NFC much more difficult. Nevertheless, the Eagles are still fighting for playoff positioning and potential home-field advantage.

The most significant storyline leading up to the final two regular-season games for the Eagles centers on the quarterback situation. Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion during the game against Washington and was replaced by Kenny Pickett. However, Pickett also suffered a rib injury late in the game, and his availability was uncertain for a few days.

On Thursday, Pickett confirmed that he is “ready to go” for the Cowboys matchup, offering a boost for the Eagles. While fans are hoping for Hurts’ return, he has yet to practice this week, which puts his status for Sunday in serious doubt. Pickett, however, was able to fully participate in Thursday’s practice, according to ESPN’s Tim McManus, and he expects to play without restrictions. Though Pickett’s performance against Washington wasn’t exceptional—he struggled to maintain a lead—he did enough to keep the game competitive. If Hurts is unable to play, Pickett offers the Eagles their best chance to win over third-string quarterback Tanner McKee.
