Buccaneers-news-Tampa-reunites-with-Shaq-Barrett-after-coming-out-of-retirement

Shaq Barrett, the former NFL sack leader, will not be joining the Detroit Lions for their Super Bowl run after all. According to Rick Stroud, Barrett, who was recently released by the Miami Dolphins, has chosen to rejoin his previous team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

When Barrett was waived, there was some speculation that the Detroit Lions might pursue him to bolster their defense. As an established pass rusher, Barrett could have added valuable depth to the Lions’ defensive line as they aim for a strong playoff push. However, while it’s unclear if Lions GM Brad Holmes made an offer to Barrett, it’s now confirmed that he will not be heading to Detroit.

With Barrett returning to the Buccaneers, the Lions will need to explore other options for pass-rushing assistance as they strive for the NFC North title and a potential Super Bowl appearance.
