"Such a scary, helpless situation. Thinking of all the brave firemen and first responders working endlessly to keep people safe," she added.

Jared Goff’s wife, Christen Harper, has shared her emotional response to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, expressing gratitude to the firefighters in her home state who are battling the Pacific Palisades blazes.

The raging fires have wreaked havoc on California, even in winter, displacing at least 137,000 residents and leaving their homes to burn with only a few belongings salvaged.

The destruction has claimed at least five lives, scorched around 15,800 acres, and, according to Los Angeles County fire chief Dave Acuna, consumed nearly 2,000 properties.

Harper, a California native who moved to Detroit with her husband after he joined the Lions in 2021, shared her thoughts on the tragedy, showing compassion for those affected and praising the firefighters.

“Just so terrifying,” Harper wrote on Instagram. “Thinking of everyone affected by these devastating fires across LA. So many places I’ve loved my whole life gone forever. Friends losing homes and being displaced.”

“Such a scary, helpless situation. Thinking of all the brave firemen and first responders working endlessly to keep people safe,” she added.

Hollywood Sign Under Threat

The iconic Hollywood sign, a symbol of American culture, is also at risk as flames approach from nearby hills. Sunset Boulevard has already been destroyed, and Acuna told the BBC there is “zero” chance of stopping the fire due to winds of 60-100 miles per hour spreading embers.

Currently, at least five major fires are burning in California: Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia, and Sunset. Together, they cover over 29,000 acres, with the threat continuing to grow.

“The whole Palisades is done,” said Michael Payton, director of Erewhon supermarkets, in an interview with the LA Times. “The whole town is done. This is complete devastation.”
