Robert Quinn, a former NFL standout who had a notable career, was arrested early Friday morning following a troubling incident in North Charleston, South Carolina. The 34-year-old ex-Dallas Cowboys player was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and reckless driving. The police report also revealed that Quinn had a physical confrontation with officers at the scene.

The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. when police were called to a collision involving a red truck. The North Charleston Fire Department was the first to arrive and informed the authorities that the suspect might be attempting to flee the scene in another vehicle. Upon arriving, officers found Quinn sitting in the passenger seat of a white Dodge Challenger, displaying visible injuries to his head and face.

Quinn appeared disoriented, with slurred speech, and was reportedly uncooperative when officers asked for his identification. Police also noted that Quinn’s Ford F-150, which was registered in his name, was located on the other side of the parking lot, appearing to be the vehicle involved in causing the collision.

According to the police report, Quinn’s truck had hit a Honda Element, which was then pushed into a Ford F-150, causing a chain reaction that damaged another car. When officers attempted to have Quinn exit the car, he resisted by holding the door shut, making the situation more difficult for authorities.

Eventually, officers were able to remove Quinn from the vehicle and “escort him to the ground.” He was taken into custody and charged for his actions. During the investigation, officers spoke to a woman who was with Quinn at the time of the incident. She told police that they had met earlier that night at a gentleman’s club where she worked.

Robert Quinn is best known for his successful career in the NFL, where he was once named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year while playing for the Los Angeles Rams. His remarkable performance led to a resurgence of his career when he joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2019, where he played as the starting right defensive end.

During the 2019 season with the Cowboys, Quinn recorded 11.5 sacks, which helped him earn a lucrative contract. His strong performance with the Cowboys ultimately led to a five-year, $70 million contract with the Chicago Bears in 2020, further solidifying his place in the league.

However, this arrest and the subsequent charges raise questions about his personal conduct and may overshadow his previous accomplishments. Quinn’s legal troubles are now an unfortunate chapter in the career of a once-promising NFL star.
