During the Washington Commanders’ victory over the Detroit Lions on Saturday, Lions cornerback Amik Robertson sustained an arm injury in the first quarter while attempting to tackle Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin. As Robertson received medical attention on the field, Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, despite being in the midst of his second career playoff start, made a thoughtful gesture by joining Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold to pray for Robertson.
Arnold reflected on the moment after the game, calling it special: “It was a cool moment, praying over him with Jayden right there beside me. It’s bigger than football.” Robertson, though in pain, was able to walk off the field with assistance, but he was ruled out of the game. The injury turned out to be a broken arm, requiring surgery.
Daniels and the Commanders went on to win the game 45-31, securing a spot in the NFC Championship against the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday.
