The Green Bay Packers’ season ended on a disappointing note with three consecutive losses, leaving them with more questions than answers after their playoff exit to the Philadelphia Eagles. This has set the stage for a pivotal offseason for Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst. However, one bright spot emerged for Packers fans—both the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings suffered early playoff exits too.

The Lions’ defeat was especially comical. After a historic 15-2 season, which secured them the NFC’s top seed and home-field advantage, Detroit fans were buzzing about potential Super Bowl glory. But in a shocking upset, the Washington Commanders, the sixth seed, took them down. Washington’s coach Dan Quinn outperformed Detroit’s Matt LaFleur, sending the Lions packing and deflating their high hopes.

Keisean Nixon, the Packers’ cornerback, didn’t hold back when it came to trolling the Lions after their unexpected loss. As one of many Packers fans enjoying the Lions’ early exit, Nixon voiced the collective satisfaction. It was sweet revenge for the Packers, who had been on the receiving end of some trash talk from Detroit this season. Remember when Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown showed up at Lambeau Field wearing a “Green Bay Sucks” hoodie, or when coach Dan Campbell boldly predicted a Detroit-Minnesota NFC Divisional Round matchup, dismissing the Packers entirely?

Despite their two straight playoff appearances with a young team, the Packers’ season ended prematurely. Meanwhile, the Lions, who enjoyed a 27-7 record over the past two years, still ended with little to show in the postseason—a few wins, a playoff meltdown, and an embarrassing home defeat. To make matters worse for Detroit, they could lose key staff members, including offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, leaving their Super Bowl hopes in doubt.
