The Washington Commanders are preparing for the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles, riding the impressive performance of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Boasting a 14-5 record, the Commanders have secured two playoff wins, defeating the Detroit Lions 45-31 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20.

Ahead of their clash with the Eagles, the Commanders made a major announcement about Daniels. He has been awarded the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) Rookie of the Year, highlighting his historic season in Washington.

The PFWA recently revealed its official awards list, naming Daniels the top offensive rookie, while Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Jared Verse claimed Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Daniels has led the Commanders’ resurgence, taking them to their first NFC Championship Game in 33 years and earning their first playoff win since 2005.

This season, Daniels has recorded 25 touchdowns, 3,568 yards, and a 69.0% completion rate, along with six rushing touchdowns and 891 yards on the ground.

The second overall pick in the 2024 draft has thrived in his early NFL career, putting Washington back in the spotlight. Daniels and the Commanders will play on January 26 at 3 p.m. ET.
