Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions concluded their season with an impressive 15-3 record.
The Lions consistently dominated the NFL during the season, finishing as the NFC’s No. 1 seed entering the playoffs.
However, despite their strong regular season, Detroit fell 45-31 to the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round. Shortly after the tough loss, the NFL’s official social media shared some thrilling news for the team.
The league revealed the finalists for the AP Most Valuable Player of the Year, naming Lions quarterback Jared Goff among them.
Goff ended the season with 37 touchdowns, 4,629 passing yards, and a 72.4% completion rate. He ranked second in the NFL in passing yards, fourth in passing touchdowns, and held the sixth-best QBR (68.4).
The other MVP finalists include Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Saquon Barkley, and Lamar Jackson. Goff and the other nominees await the announcement of the NFL awards on Feb. 6 at Saenger Theater in New Orleans.
