Jared Goff, the quarterback for the Detroit Lions, has been contemplating life after football as he approaches the later stages of his career. In a conversation with the Detroit Free Press, Goff revealed that he often thinks about what he’ll do once his playing days are over. “When I’m done, whether it’s a few years from now or further, I wonder if I’ll be burnt out or if I’ll want to keep going,” Goff said. He mentioned he could see himself supporting a close friend who is a coach, even if it’s not necessarily in coaching quarterbacks but assisting in other ways. “If I ever have a friend who’s a head coach and I can help in some way, I’d be open to that. Maybe something remote, depending on where it is,” he added. Goff also mentioned the idea of coaching his own kids in high school someday as an enjoyable possibility.

Even though Goff still has a number of years ahead in the NFL, he is already looking to the future. Recently, it was announced that he is part of a group of investors aiming to bring a WNBA team to Detroit. Goff expressed his excitement about the venture on his Instagram story, stating, “I’m thrilled to join this inspiring group of leaders as we work to bring a WNBA team to Detroit! This is an incredible opportunity for our vibrant community and the most passionate fans in the country!”

Christen, Goff’s wife, is also involved in the initiative, and she shared her excitement on Instagram with a simple “LetsBringIt” hashtag and a blue heart emoji. Though still young at 30, Goff is already making plans for life beyond football.
