Albert Breer discussed why he believes the Detroit Lions are the ideal landing spot for Myles Garrett, one of the NFL’s top edge rushers, during an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show. Breer pointed out that the Lions, now in a position where their roster is nearing Super Bowl contention, have the flexibility to make bold moves. They don’t necessarily need their first-round pick, as their roster is already quite strong. Instead, they could shift focus to acquiring proven talent like Garrett, helping to sustain their momentum after a tough loss to Washington that raised doubts about their championship window.

The idea of pairing Garrett with Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions’ star defensive end, is enticing. Hutchinson, who led the team in sacks despite missing most of the 2024 season due to injury, could complement Garrett perfectly on the opposite side of the defensive line. According to Breer, Detroit is in the midst of a championship window, and adding Garrett could be the key to ensuring they stay on the right track.
