Detroit Lions star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has expressed his desire for the team to make bold offseason moves, including acquiring Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.
During the latest episode of The St. Brown podcast, the talented receiver discussed how injuries have affected the team and emphasized the impact an elite pass rusher like Garrett could have on a defense. St. Brown believes that a dominant defensive front, featuring Garrett alongside players like Aidan Hutchinson and Alim McNeill, would eliminate the need for a strong secondary.
“I should probably text Brad (Holmes) and see what they’re thinking,” St. Brown said, referring to the Lions’ general manager. “If you have a dominant defensive line, you don’t even need corners. Just let them play off.”
Beyond Garrett, St. Brown also acknowledged the availability of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp. While he respects Kupp’s accomplishments, he pointed out that every player eventually faces the business side of the league.
As St. Brown listed the offensive stars that could form a powerhouse unit in Detroit with Kupp’s addition, his brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, was quick to refocus the conversation, stressing that the Lions need to prioritize defensive reinforcements.
