Speculation is mounting about Cleveland Browns defensive star Myles Garrett possibly being on the trade market, with the Detroit Lions emerging as a rumored destination.
However, Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson remains skeptical about the likelihood of such a deal materializing. In a conversation with the Detroit Free Press, he offered his candid perspective on the idea of adding Garrett to Detroit’s roster.
“Everyone keeps bringing it up to me, but I really don’t know,” Hutchinson admitted. “I just don’t think—you can’t stack that many guys on the same defensive line. I don’t know. Anything can happen, but it seems pretty unlikely.”
Hutchinson’s remarks indicate that while the notion of teaming up with Garrett is intriguing, assembling too many elite players in one position group might not be practical. With the Lions already boasting a strong defensive front led by Hutchinson, integrating another dominant pass rusher could create challenges.
Although Detroit could benefit from another edge rusher to complement Hutchinson, the possibility of landing a player of Garrett’s caliber remains uncertain. As trade speculation persists, Hutchinson’s comments suggest that, for now, such a move is more of a hypothetical scenario than an imminent reality.
