Aidan Hutchinson recently made comments about the possibility of the Detroit Lions trading for Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. While Hutchinson’s remarks seemed harmless at first, they quickly caught the attention of Mike Valenti, a local radio host for 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit. Hutchinson had said, “You can’t have that many dudes on one D-line…it’s very unlikely,” when discussing Garrett joining the Lions.

Valenti didn’t hold back during his show, questioning Hutchinson’s statement and calling it “one of the dumbest things” he’s ever heard. He wondered why a great player, like Hutchinson, would ever say they wouldn’t want to be surrounded by other top-tier talent. Valenti pointed out that most players would typically be excited about the opportunity to play with someone of Garrett’s caliber, but Hutchinson’s choice of words suggested otherwise.

Further speculation arose on the radio, with some hinting that Hutchinson might not want to share the spotlight with a player like Garrett. They compared it to comments made by Amon-Ra St. Brown, who expressed excitement about the potential of adding Garrett to the team. While Hutchinson’s response might have been an offhand remark, the phrasing of it left room for others to question his feelings toward such a possibility.
