As the Kentucky Wildcats continue shaping their 2025-26 basketball roster, one transfer portal target seems increasingly likely to join their ranks, while another player has committed elsewhere. Robert Morris forward Alvaro Folgueiras is trending toward Kentucky, with a “medium” confidence prediction for his potential move. If this prediction holds true, Kentucky would be securing a highly skilled big man in this cycle. Standing at 6-foot-9 and weighing 215 pounds, the Spanish-born Folgueiras has spent the last two years with Robert Morris and still has two seasons of eligibility remaining. This past season, he averaged 14.1 points on 54.8% shooting, including 41.3% from three, along with 9.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. He was named the Horizon League Player of the Year. Notably, Folgueiras played a strong role in Robert Morris’ competitive game against Alabama in the Round of 64, where he contributed 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, despite his team’s narrow loss.

Meanwhile, Kentucky will not be adding Maryland Terra point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie to its roster. Gillespie, a former Belmont star and native of Tennessee, committed to the Tennessee Vols on Friday, a decision that had seemed inevitable ever since he entered the transfer portal. Kentucky did make an effort to recruit him, but the Vols had always been the frontrunner in his recruitment.
